For The Food
We couldn’t invite you to LA without giving you a 'cheat sheet' to some of our favorite spots around the city. Here’s places we love and think you might too!
Laurel Hardware
Fun Fact: On one of De’Osha’s first trips to LA after Sean moved, she met up with her good friend from DC, Corryn, and had one of the best meals ever. Since then - Laurel Hardware has become a staple for date nights, family visits, happy hours and everything in between. We promise you’ll love it and would highly recommend making a reservation!
Our order: Lavender Margarita, French 75 or a New York Sour. Lollipop Brussel Sprouts, Duck Fried Rice,
Granville
In 2022, Granville was where De’Osha and Sean had their last date night before going long distance (again) and is now one of their preferred restaurants for an easy/laid back dinner. Typically, you will be okay without a reservation but it never hurts to make one.
Our order: French 75 or the Cucumber Martini, The Classic Cheeseburger, Sweet Potato Fries, Thai Mango Salad w/ Salmon.
Sushi Enya
You cant come to L.A. without having sushi! Shoutout to De’Osha and Sean’s trainers, Kasseem and Michelle, for putting them on to one of the best sushi restaurants in the city. Make sure you ask for the spicy mayo.
Our Order: everything on the menu!
Community Goods
This one takes commitment, but we promise its worth it. When De’Osha and Sean moved into their West Hollywood apartment together, De’Osha quickly discovered that they lived within walking distance of one of the hottest coffee shops in L.A. (We all know how much she loves her coffee). Now listen, you will stand in a LONG line and we highly recommend getting their early (before 9am) but we swear that you will have the best coffee and breakfast sliders in the city.
Our Order: Vanilla Bean Latte with milk of choice, Vic’s Cafe Con Leche Latte, Hojicha Matcha Latte, breakfast sliders (one with bacon, one with avocado)
Mendocino
Mendocino is Panera’s older, better dressed, cooler and more interesting sister (much like De’Osha’s actual big sister, Iyonna!). De’Osha discovered Mendocino in 2021 on a trip to LA with Sean and Iyonna. What started off as a random DoorDash order turned into an obsession and De’Osha and Sean are both platinum member of the Mendocino club. Don’t believe us? Ask our parents, who always have to get their Mendocino fix when they come in town.
Our order: The bride has had everything on the menu and loves it all. Both the bride and groom especially love the Avocado Quinoa Superfood Salad with Chicken. But truthfully, you cannot go wrong with anything you try!
